It looks like Flora’s Wine Bar in West Newton is about to open its doors. They’re just “one inspection” away from opening, possibly this coming weekend. The restaurant, from the founders of Mei Mei and Beer Mobile, a craft beer food truck, gave quite a bit of detail to Boston Magazine, including this little tidbit:
“The whole block has the same landlady, and the knitting folks [at Putting on the Knitz] next to us have been there for 34 years, so we really just wanted to become a part of something that was lasting. We want to establish something and grow with the rest of the tenants in the community.”
They don’t have a full kitchen, so don’t expect a full meal. This is a true “wine bar”. Though, I hear you’ll soon be able to get flatbreads across the street at the soon-to-turn-over Lumiere space.
I recommend a change of headline! I thought this article was going to be about a dubious inspection process. Why the quotes? You could have said that Flora’s wine bar is just an inspection away from opening in West Newton. It seems like a small detail but the way the headline reads is odd. I look forward to trying out this new establishment.
Thanks @Chuck
Cheers and welcome to West Newton @Flora’s!
