You may recall the incident over the summer of an 8-foot Burmese python being on the loose in Newton. Amusing to some, terrifying to others, the incident ended with the snake being caught by Jean Paul LaPierre, in the yard next door.
Well, it turns out this wasn’t JP’s first heroic act and it wouldn’t be his last. Back in 2015, he helped rescue a 1-year-old boy after a car crash. Then this past weekend in Chicago, while on the way to the start of the marathon, he subdued a gunman on a subway train. This Boston Globe article explains and there is some great video footage of the incident.
