Jimmy Tingle’s doing a fundraiser at Newton North High School on March 22. The comedian, political candidate, and story teller’s brother Garrett is a teacher there. Garrett has been involved with Mass Nine for 9th who are bringing Mass carpentry students to Puerto Rico to help rebuild houses destroyed by hurricane Maria.
It should be a good night. Along with Jimmy Tingle are special guests Corey Percival, and comedian, NNHS teacher, and my neighbor Chris Murphy, and Latin music with the Newton North Jazz combo.
Tickets ($25) are available at JimmyTingle.com and at the door if they don’t sell out ahead of time.
I had no idea Chris Murphy was also a comedian! He was such a positive influence during my time at NNHS. Would love to show up to support if I could.
Hey – I was just reminded that this event is coming up on this Friday night. As people may know, Jimmy Tingle ran for Lt. Gov. last year. I was at the Mass. Democratic Convention in June and heard him speak.
I’ll be honest – I hadn’t taken him seriously as a candidate until I heard him speak at the convention. He was amazing! Really funny, entertaining speaker who really nailed it politically as well. He gave the best speech of the convention. Seriously!
This promises to be a great evening of laughs and for a great cause. Doing great work for those in need seems to run in the family. As Jerry mentioned, Jimmy’s brother Garrett is part of this fundraiser because he’s helping to rebuild houses in Puerto Rico.
If the Tingle brothers are involved, you know the event will be entertaining and for a worthy cause. I’ll be there.
