‘Tis the season for holiday fairs! Here are five holiday fairs coming up this weekend in Newton. You can walk to all four of the Saturday fairs in less than one hour of walking. [UPDATE: This revised walking route is shorter, is much flatter (bypassing West Newton Hill), and allows you to catch the Auburndale Community Nursery School’s fair before it closes at 2PM.]

Great suggestions, especially the walking part – thanks Bruce! We’re going to do it!
Hopefully folks won’t be too tired from walking on Saturday and will go for a “fun run” on Sunday morning before hitting the Crafts Fair at Newton South.
Kick off the holiday season by joining the Dreamfar John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton Holiday Hustle 5K race on a certified, flat course through the neighborhood of West Newton with professional chip timing by RaceWire. Shirts available to the first 300 pre-registered runners, prizes to top finishers, post-race breakfast and festivities for all! Costumes are highly encouraged!

So how come the Auburndale Community Nursery School is in Newtonville? For the same reason Newtonville Books is in Newton Centre? And Newtonville Camera is in Waltham? …and Brookline Oriental Rug is in Needham?
Why is there a need for a rain date for the Newton Craft Fair at Newton South on December 2nd? One of my yearly favorites – it’s indoors.
