Newtonville Pizza has been owned by the Triantafilles family for 44 years, but today it has a new owner. I had a very brief conversation with Harry, son of Charles, who had owned it. He said the new owners are Nick and Mush.
Why are they selling after so long in the business? Well, one major reason is health issues. Harry, his sister and their father have had their fill recently and doing the front counter work is becoming too much. Add to that the problems with hiring, they just can’t find people to work the front end. He also noted that business is down a bit since the construction started, though he said he’s pretty sure it will come back when it’s all done. But when you add everything up, it’s just time to move on.
As far as I know, the lockers (and the pizza) will remain.
Thanks to the entire Triantafilles family for being a great member of our Newtonville community and family. I have so many fond memories. I wish you all the very best and thank you for your years of service to the community!
40 years ago I lived on Newtonville Ave and was a regular in that shop for the year that I lived there. I hope the new owners have as good a run.
