Nick would have been a great Governor’s Councilor. He ran an excellent campaign and I hope he stays engaged.
Could someone please explain we why even need a Governor’s Council when we have a bicameral legislature?
@Jay,
I’m posting a link to a publication by the Secretary of the Commonwealth — it gives the history of the Governor’s Council and provides constitutional citations related to establishment of the council as well as various amendments relating to election of the members. This doesn’t answer your question as to why we need such a body with a bicameral legislative branch, but may give insight as to how it could be abolished. Happy reading!

Thank you, Lisap! Has this body outlived its usefulness?
Jay,
What’s the alternative?? If your going to get rid of it, you better have something better in mind.
