From Inna’s Kichen’s Facebook page….
We are excited to share that we will be returning to Newton this Summer, planning for July opening. The address is 547 Commonwealth Avenue, a few blocks from Newton Center. The space was previously a kosher butcher shop, and next door to Blacker’s Bakeshop, a kosher bakery. It’s a fitting location as our prepared foods and gluten-free options will compliment Blacker’s baked goods and we also plan to have kosher supervision.
The word ‘culinaria’ is used in Europe to describe prepared foods and since we will not have seats, sandwiches, or cold-cuts, it seems a better description for us than ‘deli’. We will have a rotating selection of family style dinner items, frozen entrees like pot pies, soups, and some of our favorite items (like latkes and stuffed cabbage), a catering menu, and educational hands-on cooking programs. We will continue our allergen-friendly practices and the kitchen will be dedicated gluten-free.
Excited that it will be kosher certified! Thank you.
Hooray! We’d been getting our Inna’s fill at the Boston Public Market.
Which inevitably meant following our meal with the market’s apple cider donuts on the way out the door. So this relocation will save us a few LB’s, hopefully.
Wait, now we’ll have to pass by Blacker’s on the way out. That takes care of the LB reduction plan – oh well.
Terrific news, especially regarding the “hashgacha,” or kosher certification, which will help draw additional customers in the heart of orthodox Newton and also where many at Temple Emanuel also keep kosher. If I remember correctly, this is the spot where Provizer’s deli was for many years, a long time ago.
Hard to argue with Kosher plus gluten free! And Inna’s quality is hard to beat.
Still, no seats means we will still not be able to get Alex’s Breakfast anymore.
Love Inna’s sandwiches at the Public Market, which is where I first discovered them. I ‘m glad they are coming back to Newton, but from the description, it sounds like the sandwisches aren’t following…sigh.
