The Newton Election Department’s unofficial results can be found here.
(Unfortunately, the site is not providing ward by ward/precinct breakdowns by we assume that they will be available later. )
Somebody named “Logan,” appears to be a student is live streaming result too.
I am also covering the results live here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ydKYFk6Zb8
Poll worker told me turnout was very good for a preliminary. And it was lovely getting to meet Groot!
City site isn’t breaking down results by ward as it usually does.
Tell us who you are Logan?
It’s useless trying to follow the results as they come in unless we know which parts of the city the voters are coming from. Really taking fun out of election night.
@Greg Reibman I am a student at beaver country day school who is very involved in politics. I am a Sangiolo supporter and stood with a sign for an hour today at my polling place. On my youtube channel, LoganZombieoftime, I cover elections from all around the USA and the world weekly.
Logan-
You are awesome!
Hello,
I’m Cooper and friends with Logan, currently working with him on coverage for the election. I’m also very invested in local politics and I was a volunteer on Ruthanne’s campaign this summer. @Greg and Village 14, thanks for providing us a platform!
With 50% of precincts reporting it looks like Ruthanne Fuller may have a lock with 42% of the vote.
Since we don’t know which parts of the city have reported its probably too early to call between Lennon and Sangiolo … but Scott Lennon has a pretty big lead with 33% vs Amy Sangiolo with 19%.
I’m calling it… Fuller v Lennon.
Looks like an incredible turnout for a preliminary election.
15,886 total votes in the 2009 preliminary.
Logan & Cooper, Thanks for the coverage. We’re looking for enthusiastic political activists on the Vote Yes Campaign…

Final analysis tomorrow afternoon. Onward to November..
If only the whole city had as good an understanding of the charter issues as Logan and Cooper….

@Greg – the ward/precinct breakdown will be back on the City of Newton website in time for the general election.
Logan and Cooper, impressive. Keep it up. It’s great that you and V14 connected. Thanks for introducing yourselves.
For those that missed Logan and Cooper’s debate on the Charter during the live stream, it is not to be missed. I had no idea they’d be this informed. The link starts automatically at 2:06:13:
