The League of Women Voters of Newton (LWVN) would like to invite all those who are interested in running for office (and those who are planning to support a candidate) to Don’t Just Stand There…Run! on Thursday, April 27th, from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Brigham House in Newton Highlands. This is an event for all candidates and their supporters who are organizing, managing or helping in the campaign to gain practical information and advice from an expert panel. Our panelists are:
• David Olson, Newton City Clerk, who will give an overview of the local filing and state requirements;
• Marcia Johnson, former Ward 2 City Councilor, who will discuss being a candidate and elected official; and
• Greg Reibman, President of the Newton-Needham Regional Chamber and Village14, who will discuss effective press/media communications.
