In a meeting at Newton City Hall yesterday afternoon, March 31, Mayor Setti Warren announced some new initiatives to speed up city services. The city has been receiving complaints from residents that they are waiting too long for city department heads to arrive for home appointments.
Under a new program with General Motors the city has agreed to lease six 2017 Corvette Stingrays for department heads. Mayor Warren explained that this should make for quicker response time while also providing “a little fun element into their jobs.” When questioned about potential speeding tickets the mayor said that the city would not be responsible and that he expected all city employees to follow speed limits and traffic laws.
Cars at the dealer to be delivered next week.
Clearly, those new 25 MPH speed limits are the real culprit.
