OK…if Setti isn’t going to run…who will our next Mayor be? A female? Millennial? League of Women Voters Newton Trained? Senior citizen? Developer? Developer’s Wife? Housing Advocate? Preservationist? Republican? (I know it’s not supposed to be partisan…but are there any Republicans in Newton?) Unenrolled? Funded by outside money? One of the directly-elected Ward City Councilors whose positions are likely to be removed from the Charter? Any thoughts?

I can think of three candidates. But I’m not telling ’til you do!
OK…I’ll out some (alphabetically): Auchincloss; Balser; Fuller; Hess-Mahan; Lennon; Lipof, Those are the usual suspects. Any unusual ones?
Two good candidates, Scott Lennon and Ruthanne Fuller have already thrown their hat in the ring according to the Boston Globe. I’d guess there will be a few more once this gets going.
Which Lipof?
It could be any of several Lipofs…Rick or a brother whose name I believe is Ron might face off against each other …seems like Newton has a Kennedy family of its own here: Alderman Mike (may he rest in peace), Cheryl, Rick, Ron (?). Don’t forget Phil who just got a new gig in front of the camera…maybe Mother Rabbi Emily? But I don’t know who lives in Newton anymore…
What about City Councilor Amy Sangiolo? City Councilor Lisle Baker? Any other names anyone can throw in the hat? What do we want in a Mayor anyway? Any suggestions?
