As part of the run-up to next month’s Tour de Newton, Landry’s Bicycles and Bike Newton have teemed up to sponsor a FREE! spring bicycle checkup on the Newton Center Green today, Sat 5/7 from 1 – 4 PM, across from Panera Bread.

Mechanics from Landry will be on hand to check tires, brakes, gears and bike fit, making minor adjustments or repairs if necessary.  Bring your helmets and they’ll check/adjust the fit too.

Landry’s will have a tent there so even if there’s light drizzle or rain they’ll be hard at work.

While you’re there, have a go on the new Newton Centre street piano, that will be there all month long as part of the Newton Festival of the Arts.

If you haven’t signed up already, think about joining this year’s Tour de Newton on Sunday June 19 (Fathers Day).   This annual 20 mile, 13 village fun ride is a great, fun, ride for everyone.  It starts in all 13 villages at the same time so you’ll be riding with your neighbors.  The circular route goes through all the villages with a stop in each one so you’ll probably see parts of Newton you’ve never been too.  You may answer life-long questions you’ve had about Newton (“where the hell is Thompsonville?”, etc).

There’s also a shorter 5 mile, 3 village Petite Tour for the less experienced riders and a faster Contra Tour that rides the 20 mile route backwards at a higher speed with fewer stops, for the more experienced riders.   Sign up here
