Monday April 18 is Marathon Monday. Road closures along Washington Street will occur beginning at:
- 8:30 a.m., from the Wellesley line to Beacon Street.
- 8:00 a.m., from Beacon Street to Commonwealth Avenue.
Please be advised that road closures along Commonwealth Avenue will occur beginning at:
- 8:00 a.m. from Washington Street to the Boston line.Parking restrictions will be in place along the Marathon route, Commonwealth Avenue – Carriage lanes and portions of those streets that feed into the Marathon route. Also, this year’s event will have added security and all bags and coolers are subject to be searched by the Police.Residents who live on Homer Street between Commonwealth Ave and Walnut Street, Walnut Street between Commonwealth Ave and Homer Street, Cummings Road and North Street should be advised that this will be a Police Security Zone and therefore will be open to residents of these streets only from 8am – 6pm.
The City is also warning contractors and homeowners that NO WORK is allowed on Monday, April 18th if the property is located on the Boston Marathon Route.
