Just to be clear, the CM ruling is a school decision.

GOOD – Exactly what should have been done. As a practicing Catholic who was there on Friday night – I am beyond appalled at what CM students did. I still cannot believe how they could chant such antisemitic words during the holiest season. Just unbelievable.

Is this referring to the basketball team or just the spectators?

The thread posted above continues with Danny Ventura agreeing that punishing the whole school as well as the team, playing a stressful match with no student fans, is unfair.
@BostonHeraldHS That is terrible and unfair, we are dealing with kids. The make mistakes, just like adults, you punish the entire school wow
Having a big fan section truly helps the players out there on the court. CM banning students from the E. Mass Finals is unfair to the team.

@HoopDreamsMag could not agree more. There are better teaching tools out there than that.

Actually – their fans should have been escorted out on Friday Night. That is what CM deserved. As a practicing Catholic I am beyond appalled at what they chanted – during the holiest time in the Catholic Religion. What are they being taught at CM????
They totally deserve this punishment. It starts at the top- had Principal Aronson not gone over they would have continued the chant all night. Why did the CM administrators not react immediately?? Probably because they have done the same chant at other venues. They only reacted now because the Anti defamation league was involved. And Principal Aronson was beyond Angry with them and the MIAA reps.
Here’s a statement from CM and an update from the TAB.

@Joanne, it was reported that CM had the students apologize on the spot, and CM reached out to the ADL.
