The Newton for Bernie Sanders 2016 Campaign Group is hosting a free debate watch at the Social Restaurant and Bar at 320 Washington Street (next to the Crown Plaza Hotel) on Thursday, February 11th, beginning at 8 PM.
This will be the 6th Democratic Party sponsored debate. It comes just after the contests in Iowa and New Hampshire and less than a month before voters go to the polls in Massachusetts for our own Presidential primary on Tuesday, March 1st.
We will have free buttons, bumper stickers and lawn signs at this gala event. We are trying to place as many Bernie’s lawn signs as possible throughout Newton, particularly on major roadways and other prominent locations. Please let us know at [email protected] if you would like us to bring a sign to your property. Make certain to include your address, a telephone number, and your email address.
Voters who are registered as Democrats or who are unenrolled in either party can vote in the March 1st Democratic Presidential Primary.
We have just come off of intensive three month campaign where we canvassed voter households throughout southern New Hampshire. We are now rapidly redeploying manpower and resources to Massachusetts for a quick turn around here. For more information about our fast growing campaign in Newton, please visit (and like) our Facebook Page (Newton MA4Bernie) or send an email to [email protected].
Anyone interested in Bernie’s campaign is invited to Thursday’s event. We hope to see you there.

I’d like to take this opportunity to say that working on a campaign with Bob Burke is an experience not to be missed. I’ve canvassed in NH with Bob for three different Presidential campaigns, and I learn something on every trip. It’s probably worth switching candidate allegiances or party affiliation, just for the opportunity to work with Bob. From all his experience (yes, starting as a kid with FDR!), he’ll tell you that the Sanders campaign is the most important one he’s worked on ever.

See you tonight, Bob.
There’s lots to admire about Senator Sanders. I’d be interested in understanding senator’s foreign policy/experience. It seems to me that when he’s asked about it, his answer is primarily “I voted against the war.” That’s commendable, but not exactly a policy. Meanwhile, he’s been reluctant to say who his foreign policy advisers are and in the last debate seemed a little confused about how many dictators run North Korea.
