About a year ago, the Newton Nomadic Theater started a series of events called the Nomad Story Slams. They are nights of community story telling. Each slam has a theme and anyone can come and throw their name in the hat to tell a five minute story.
At this point, we’ve held five Nomad Story Slams and have almost 100 great stories captured on video, thanks to NewTV and our great video production crew (Chris Pitts, Maureen Reilly-Meager, Chris Thayer and Laura Johnson)
Every Sunday, I’ll post a single video story. This week is a great one from the first Nomad Story Slam. The theme was “on the road” and the story teller is Alderman Scott Lennon. Enjoy! – Click here
Our next Nomad Story Slam will be Fri Nov 20 at Gregorian Rugs. The theme will be “that’s when I knew this was a bad idea”. Tickets available here.
What a beautiful story, and so entertainingly told too.
I had the pleasure meeting Scott recently. I came away with the feeling the city is in good hands with him around. His daughter is sure going to think the world of Dad, and Mom must be the best ever too.
@Simon – of the nearly 100 or do stories so far, that was one of my favorites .
@Jerry,
Scott will be a tough act to follow, you might have to hide his video away!!
I’m glad you put it up though. I feel it’s important for people to see our politicians are only human too!
