Well is you need a break for the frightening upcoming elections, please plan to visit the annual Newton Highlands Halloween party and haunted house, Sunday Oct 25, at the Hyde Community Center on Lincoln St.
The event begins with a Halloween Party from 5:00 PM to 6:00. The party is focused for children 8 providing fun and games concluding with the Parade of Horribles, a costume parade around the neighborhood.
The Haunted House will start at 6:30 PM finishing about 7:30. Visit our Haunted Hospital with blood lab, surgery and of course morgue! The event is free of charge open to all of Newton and beyond.
And if you are in the Village before the party, take a tour of the Halloweeen windows painted by local students!
The Newton Highlands Halloween Party and Haunted House are sponsored by the Newton Parks and Recreation Department, the Newton Highlands Neighborhood Area Council and the Hyde Community Center.
I love the window painting each year. To me, it’s one of the things that makes Newton special. And of course the Haunted House is one of the things that makes the Highlands a great neighborhood.
Also, Highlands businesses will be open for Trick or Treating specials from 3-4pm on Halloween Day. This is a 24-yr old tradition in the Highlands, started by Linda Gulman, who owns the Indulge! candy shop on Lincoln St.
Haunted Hospital? I wonder if there will be one of Obama’s “Death Panels” lurking about. It would add a quaint touch.
@Bob, I guess folks will have to come out and see 🙂
