The 80th annual St. Mary of Carmen Society Festival opens this Wednesday, July 15 at 6 p.m. at Pellegrini Park in Nonantum. If you’ve never been, you’re missing something really special. There’s so much to see and do: amusement park rides, food, music, entertainment, politicians, regular people, procession, flight of the angel, author of Legendary Locals of Newton selling and signing her book Wednesday night (!). But best of all, Nonantum is transformed into Italy for five nights.
Festa starts Wednesday! Don’t miss it!

Always an amazing event and a great time for all you Charter Commission candidates to collect all the signatures you could possibly need.
I appreciate the way V14 keeps the community informed of upcoming events such as this – but one that seems to have been missed, unfortunately, was “A History of the Newton Water System” at the Waterworks Museum yesterday.
Has V14 ever considered an event calendar?
HI Greg
Sorry I didnt see this during the festa, We had a great year once again for out 80th. I believe as each years past, more and more from outside of the neighborhood and city see this as an important event to attend. Thank you for your continued Support. The efforts this year raise important funds to allow us to support worthy causes and allow for students to continue there education endeavors
