PosterGeneric400 | Newton MA News and Politics BlogAt exactly 5 PM tonight, we pushed a button and made Feast of Falls tickets available to Upper Falls residents.  About 15 seconds later, a spreadsheet automatically began filling up and the free tickets for Upper Falls resident began flying out the door.

Now it’s time for everyone else to get in to the act.   Starting right now, we’re auctioning off tickets.

The Feast of The Falls is an absolutely incredible event that was the brainchild of Seana Gaherin from Dunn Gaherins Pub three years ago.   On Sunday June 28, all the neighbors of Upper Falls pitch in and throw the party of the year.  A beautiful 350 foot long table is set along the aqueduct in Hemlock Gorge and 350 friends and neighbors sit down at a single table for an amazing feast.   Christopher Osborn from Better Life Food, another neighborhood business, is the head chef.  He and the staff of Dunn Gaherins create a four course gourmet dinner in a mobile kitchen in the woods.

The table-side service is provided by the VIP Servers, a who’s who of Upper Falls notables – our elected leaders, shop owners, well know people in the neighborhood – and this year, also the cast from our neighborhood theater’s last production (Beauty Queen of Leenane).

There’s music, there’s laughter, old friendships get rekindled, new friendships get made – it’s a magic night.

So bid on some tickets and come join the party.  While we’re hoping to raise as much money as we can with the auction, last year a few of the tickets went for as little as $15 or $20, so give it a try.   Each day will be a different auction ending at 8 PM.  If you don’t win on one day, your bid will automatically be resubmitted on the following day’s auction.
