Remember that Sunday May 17th is Swap Day at Rumford. This is the first Sunday Swap and ready to help your spring clean up with a place to part with useful stuff that you don’t want to go to the dump.
So what can you swap?
- Computers, Appliances, Bicycles and Books
- Household items and non-upholstered furniture (No mattresses or couches)
- REUSABLE building materials (cabinets, doors, plumbing and light fixtures, lumber, drywall, etc.)
- Sorry, NO computer monitors, NO televisions, NO hazardous materials. These can be dropped off monthly and on special drop off days.
- Pretty much anything, so long as it is usable, non-toxic, non-hazardous – and clean!
Who’s invited?
- All Newton residents are eligible to drop off items from 8 AM to 1 PM
- Newton residents can pick up items from 8 AM to 2 PM, with exclusive hours from 8 to 11
- The general public is welcome pick up items from 11 AM to 2 PM
The swap is rain or shine and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
I found some great things last year!!!
This was a terrific service. We brought a bike that’s been collecting dust in our garage for three years and found a new owner for it within 90 seconds of when we took it out of the car.
My compliments to the folks who organized this (although it was a little curious when a somewhat-aggressive volunteer with a clip board grilled me about how much the bike weighed). Next year, I’m sure we’ll bring even more stuff and maybe will weigh it first?
