NewWabanLogoFor many years Chief Waban’s image had been the official logo of the village of Waban.

The Waban Area Council has received a few inquiries recently about the historical accuracy of that image.  While the image has been in use by many years by both city government, as well as neighborhood organizations, nobody can definitively vouch that that is in fact an accurate image of Chief Waban.

Rather than get caught up in an unwanted controversy the Area Council thought it would be prudent to retire the well loved logo in favor of a safer, less troublesome image.  Rather than hire a graphic artist to design a new logo, the resourceful councilors contacted officials at the Mass Turnpike and convinced them to allow use of their retired Mass Pike logo – for free

Everybody wins!  Well done Area Councilors.
