I took a drive down Tower Road yesterday not knowing that the shortcut has been shut down. The demolition of the building is a sight to behold. When I got to the IVEX parking area that opens to Oak Street, there was a brand new fence along the entire road. You can’t get here from there anymore.
Any initial thoughts on what the developer is proposing? It’s a huge open area.
It’s going to be the new Village 14 World Headquarters. Here’s a preliminary drawing.
Greg, looks like Hogwarts to me.
Here’s what Northland is doing in Waltham – I like it.
The Merc
The Merc is a mixed-use development in downtown Waltham. It will feature 269 new residences in three five-story buildings on a 4.5 acre site, along with 27,500 square feet of retail space, a 300-car parking garage and 92 surface parking spaces. The first phase of residential development will be completed the summer of 2015 with the full buildout of the project in 2016. To learn more about The Merc, visit http://www.LiveAtTheMerc.com
Press release on 2/20/2015 – Northland is gobbling up more property in the Needham Street corridor. Add these 2 properties to the Marshall’s Plaza and the recent demolition on Tower Road/Oak St. We are going to get new development. I really hope the community will be involved.
