Newton author Nelson Lipschutz will be doing a reading from his new novel, followed by a discussion on Wed night, Jan 15 at 7PM at New England Mobile Book Fair.
Stop by for the free event, meet the author and pick up a signed copy of his new novel “The Mecca Plan“.
Aside from his work as a writer, Mr. Lipschutz other claims to fame include being married to just-elected Waban Area councillor Sallyee Lipschutz and attending last June’s Feast of The Falls in an elaborate costume as one of the “maurading masses from Waban”. That’s him in the horns, helmet and beard at 23:50 in this video.
I can’t believe that my husband, Nelson, who is the world’s leading expert on the regulatory economics of title insurance, and now a newly minted author of an exciting thriller about the Middle East, is claiming fame as being my partner (read: “husband”) of nearly 50 years (this summer!). Who knew that Area Councils could be so influential? I would have run sooner, if I had realized. Now that I have joined the “dark side,” (read: “politician”) I must demand that my name be spelled correctly! Sallee is with 2 “e’s”…my mother liked it spelled that way. And Nelson’s and my surname is Lipshutz…with no c’s, no extra l’s, only one I and pronounced “lip (as in that rouge-colored thing under your nose) and “shuts” (as in “He shuts the door!”). But, thanks for the plug, anyway, Jerry!
Sorry, proofreading and speling have never been my strong points.
Forgiven!
