After last Sunday’s rain, Tour de Newton has been rescheduled for this Sunday Oct 13.
After the hard rain on Oct. 6, the organizers are pulling the ride back together–any of the 400+ rider spots that are not taken by re-tour-nees are now open for new Tour riders!
Join the 20 mile, 13 village, free, fun bike ride and get a cool T-shirt & village buttons, be entered to win a Trek bike and have a ton of fun with your neighbors! The Tour de Newton Retour is this Sunday. Sign up today since the remaining spots are expected to fill quickly.
Gather at the village start of your choice for one of 13 simultaneous rides in a one-way circuit connecting all 13 villages. Groups will be small and led by an experienced cyclist leader & “sweep” to ensure a safe “no-rider-left-behind” experience. Riders will be greeted in each Village by a community leader with special pins, info, water, refreshments, cow bells and more! You can complete the entire 20-mile loop, or do a segment or two & then ride home.

Yeah Jerry,
Tour de Newton rides on!
I have been “promoted” to Sweeper for the Newton Corner riders, due to my vast experience being at the back of the pack. Looking forward to Sunday!
Any word on revised # of participants?
The numbers are definitely down from last week. I don’t have the up-to-date numbers but I’d guess where’ll end up in the 250-300 range spread over 13 villages.
The delay was good for me since I was out of town last Sunday and looking forward to greeting folks riding into the Highlands.
Like @Doug and @Groot, the delay has actually been beneficial for me. My calendar is a little freer, so I’ll get to ride this time. See you all in the villages!
… and Groot the Greeter has a nice ring to it
While the rain was a darn shame last week, and the numbers are down for this holiday weekend when, I am sure, many people will be away, I really want to congratulate Jerry and everyone involved! I hope that this becomes a regular fall event in Newton!
