I think that Emily won this one. This was my first exposure to Eve Tapper and I was not impressed. Eve kept repeating her background as an “urban planner” over and over again. The bigger issue is how “urban” Newtonville wants to become.
I have to agree with KarenN’s assessment.
I’m thinking Eve Tapper is wishing that she could walk back her remarks about urbanizing Newtonville. I was under the impression that people moved to Newton to get away from the urban environments. People don’t want Newton to become like Waltham (though it would be nice if we can entice a few of their life sciences, technology and financial companies to come to Newton).
Eve Tapper won that debate by a mile. She was smart, knowledgeable, confident, and all thinks you want in a leader and politician.
