This was an inspiring event, with so many wonderful and compelling speakers, musicians and participants in the Memorial March for Peace who came to celebrate together and renew their commitment to civil rights and ending violence.
As a special treat, the famous folksinger Pete Seeger led the gathering assembled there in a powerful rendition of his song “We Shall Overcome.”
Kudos to everyone involved, but especially to Newton resident Sarah Mausner who helped organize this event.
