Went to the recently opened Rox Cafe in Newton Highlands last week. Food and service were just as excellent as its sister ship in Newtonville. Love how they improved the tricky, former Bakers Best space. But, you know what particularly struck and delighted me? The high quality of the flatware. Unfortunately unusual for Newton.

Dining in Newton is not cheap. I’m not complaining. The market is what the market is. But, if you’re going to charge me $13 for my meal, could you give me a fork that won’t bend on a bite of omelette?

That goes for the takeout, ice-cream, and froyo places, too. Just because it has to be plastic, doesn’t mean it has to be low-quality.

If things don’t get better soon, I’m going to start naming names!
