On behalf of Village 14 and every Newton parent of a past, current or future Little Leaguer, I’d like to congratulation Newton SouthEast Little League for winning the state championship and wish them luck in the regionals. The team lost a tough game at the regionals in Bristol, CT last night, but don’t rule them out. They call themselves “The Comeback Kids,” according to a player in this Wicked Local story.

And speaking of local winners, fingers crossed for the NNHS Envirothon team, also 2013 state champions. After weeks of intensive preparation, five team members left this afternoon for the five-day North American competition in Bozeman, Montana. http://www.envirothon.org/
This is awesome! As the city-wide Babe Ruth teams did well but did not come out of the State tournaments, this is awesome to see.
