From: John MacGillivray — Newton Veterans’ Agent

The end of hostilities in Korea occurred on July 27, 1953. In honor of the 60th anniversary of the cessation of these hostilities the City of Newton will present certificates of appreciation to those veterans who served during the Korean War.
We invite you to join us in a ceremony that will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2 PM on the 2nd floor of City Hall.  The Consul General of South Korea will participate and Mayor Warren will present each veteran with a certificate of appreciation.  The public is encouraged to attend.

If you have any family, friends, or constituents who served during the Korean
War (not necessary to have served in Korea- just have to  have been in the military at
that time), please send me their names so I can ensure that a certificate is made up in a
timely manner.

Thanks.
