After some years in Newton and a term on the Board of Aldermen, Ben Weisbuch moved to Columbus, got married, became a father, and nearly died. Here’s a 10-minute video of Ben speaking to the American Heart Association about his encounter with sudden cardiac death, his extremely unlikely survival, and the pioneering genetic research that pinpointed the mutation causing his heart disease. Ben and his wife have founded the Heart Hope Foundation to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and to raise funds for genetic cardiac research.

Whew! That is a compelling and frightening story.
Wow – yes, exactly what Jerry said!
From the video, he has grown tremendously since leaving Newton. Facing death kind of does that to you! Thanks for posting this Bruce, I am glad to hear that Ben (and family) is doing well in Columbus.
A phenomenal speaker on behalf of this terrible disease. An inspiring story of survival & hope.
