The Boston Herald is reporting that recently retired Congressman Barney Frank, D-Newton, told Governor Deval Patrick that he’s interesting in filling the U.S. Senate seat that would be vacant if Senator John Kerry makes it through the confirmation process for Secretary of State as expected. (Long sentence, but you know what I mean: Barney Frank wants John’s Kerry’s seat temporarily.) Barney wants to be in Washington to help resolve the fiscal cliff crisis.
Seems like a no-brainer to me. I can’t imagine that the governor will even consider anybody else.
