This is the best news I’ve heard in Newton Highlands in a long time. I got this information secondhand — from my husband, who read a sign at the restaurant — so I don’t know details, but O’Hara’s Food and Spirits on Walnut Street will be opening on Sundays.

Here’s more O’Hara’s news: On Monday, the O’Haras picked up the building permits needed to begin work on expanding into the former bead store on the corner. In addition to extra seats and a handicap entrance. the facade of the new portion will ultimately match the rest of the restaurant.
Dunn Gaherin;s is also going to start opening on Sundays.
Recent licensing rule changes in Newton will allow restaurants to serve alcohol on Sunday mornings, which will eventually lead to Sunday brunch at both places, and presumably other Newton restaurants being busy on Sunday too.
So many places that now serve Guinness on Sunday and so little time….
Sunday morning Guinness and cheerios with a Bushmills chaser! My eyes water with pride for my hometown, a caring city that considers the needs of all. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
And it’s walking distance from my house! What more could a girl want?
Excellent news. And Dunn Gaherin’s has been really good about dealing with food allergies.
Great news about Dunn Gaherin’s too!
