| Newton MA News and Politics BlogI’m not a huge fan of the Chestnut Hill Square development, now rising along Boylston St./Rte. 9, but my inner 5-year-old always gets a thrill when girders go up. It looks like the back building, which will house on its ground floor a 60,000 sq. ft. Wegmans, is fully framed. And, as my kids have pointed out, the building is finally bigger than the rock piles. You can see where the front building is going. And, the traffic circulation is pretty clear. The site is taking shape.

Two things I noted:

  • It’s a big site
  • When viewed from the south, with the Mall and Towers at Chestnut Hill in the background, the size of the building does not seem out-of-scale. (Sorry, I couldn’t get a good photo of that perspective.)

A few more pictures after the jump.
