Although she was trounced in yesterday’s Democratic primary, the fact remains that 180 Newton voters thought it was a good idea to vote for Rachel Brown yesterday.
I personally find that unsettling.

There were a few thousand Newton voters that went to the polls and voted Kennedy but left the two other races unchecked. That’s the unsettling part — they voted for the familiar name and didn’t know diddly about anything else
We live in a country that elected George W. Bush, not once, but twice. And in a city that elected David Cohen three times. So nothing at the polls surprises me anymore. This woman, Rachel Brown, is such a complete lunatic though, with positions that are detached from reality and lacking any credible basis, it is truly amazing that she got any votes. I suspect a lot of her votes were really anti Kennedy votes, by people who knew absolutely nothing about Ms. Brown. But I sure would love to have someone who actually supported her, post their reasons why on this thread.
It appears Rachel Brown had the entire dining room table vote wrapped up.
good thing she is a declared Democrat – makes us declared card-carrying unenrolled independents look good! anyone care to be nominated to attend our independent party caucus just drop me a line, this year it is Dec. 26th.
And most of you all will support the re-election of Obama, who continued the War in Iraq for more than 2 more years, and committed us to at least 6 more years of Afghanistan, who re-signed the patriot act despite his and democrats stance against it under Bush. I can continue. What’s the difference between voting for one scumbag over another, because MORE of you agree with them that makes it ok? Don’t even get me started on Romney, there’s a peach.
Mike
Rachel Brown got less than 3% of the primary vote. Statistically speaking, if you put a dining room table on the ballot it would’ve gotten more votes — probably a lot more votes.
I feel bad for the kids that believed in her.
How many voted for home town candidate Herbert Robinson who has been a generous philanthropist and activist in local campaigns?
@Alderman Yates– I like JK3 a lot, and I’m sure he’ll make an excellent congressman, but I voted for Robinson in the primary. Why? Because he was the only candidate for that office who vocally supported legalization of marijuana. I appreciated his courage in doing so, and felt I owed him my vote.
