As regular readers of this blog may recall, my family and I are big fans of Le’s Vietnamese restaurant in the Atrium Mall. But after 10 years there (formerly under the name Pho Pasteur but under the same owner), Le’s joins the many, many, many other businesses to leave the soon-to-be-revamped Atrium Center.
Le’s is closing this Sunday not long after Le’s served its millionth bowl of pho, the Chestnut Hill manager told me tonight. He also said most, but not all, of his employees will have jobs at one of their other locations. And, he assured us, the tropical fish that swim in two different tanks have found a new home too, in a tank belonging to one of their customers.
And, he hinted, a return to the Newton area some time in the future was possible as well.
Any word on whether the Cheesecake Factory will stay there?
Le’s is/was really good. Sad.
I wonder is the former Baker’s Best location would be a good choice.
We’d love to have them move to the Highlands!
I second that!
The Skipjacks space is in Highlands. Oh, wait.
There will be restaurant space in the new proposed development for the Skipjacks site.
That noodle house in Newton Center doesn’t get the job done. Would love a good one somewhere in Newton.
@Kim: I had a delicious bowl of beef rice noodle soup at No. 1 Noodle last night. No complaints. And June at the front counter just might be the friendliest (and given that’s she’s still wearing her Red Sox hat, perhaps the most optimistic) person in Newton Centre.
