Upper Falls has a hidden gem of a river side park that very few people know about or have ever visited. Here’s a plan for ending its isolation and connecting it to other city park land.

Jerry, Wasn’t one of the arguments against the proposed greenway that it’s isolation would attract all sorts of mischief? How many needles and condoms did you find in this park area?
Hoss – sorry to disappoint, no needles or condoms. I do agree though that whenever you get local people using park land regularly there’s nearly always less mischief and the park is better cared for. The mischief gets noticed and reported and the trash gets picked up.
Wonderful work, Jerry. You’re right: the more this beautiful property is used and enjoyed, the less room there will be for “mischief”. We have these beautiful natural resources so let’s enjoy them! I’m a life-long resident of Newton and never knew that this park existed! Thank you for all of your hard work and organizing.
Thank you!
