In honor of National Armed Forces Day, the City of Newton is welcoming veterans, National Guard/Reserves, active military, & family for celebrity basketball game on Sat. May. 19 at Newton South. Doors open at 12:30; Game tips off at 1:30.

Expected celebrities include Mayor Setti Warren, Kiss 108’s Matty in the Morning, Celtics’ co-owner Steve Pagliuca, Celtics’ Hall of Famer Satch Sanders, former Celtics guard Dana Barros, New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung, Three-time Super Bowl Winner and Patriots running back Kevin Faulk, Former Red Sox infielder and WEEI radio host Lou Merloni, Patriots Super Bowl winner Jermaine Wiggins, two-time Stanley Cup champion and Boston Bruins forward Shawn Thornton, former Bruin and WAAF radio host Lyndon Byers, Olympic medal winner and Boston Blades goalie Molly Schaus, WCVB SportsCenter 5’s Mike Dowling, Forward Pat Mullane and Goalie Brian Billet from the National Champion Boston College Hockey Team, Miss Massachusetts Molly Whalen and more.

Admission Saturday is free.  The public is invited to make a cash donation or bring supplies for care packages. More information here.
