There are four standout events in Newton this weekend and something for everyone!

FRIDAY through SATURDAY

fileBoston College Arts Festival
Boston College Arts Council*
through April 28

This is a great weekend at BC and was definitely one of my favorite times of the year as an undergrad. Think of this weekend as their way of saying “thank you” for dealing with all the shenanigans around football games…

Families! Take advantage of the free Children’s Activities Saturday from noon-3pm

Score tickets to a Bollywood take on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream

Friday night includes an interactive Murder Mystery, a film night, and a band concert with lots of Bernstein

Saturday includes dancing with BC bOp! and faculty readings, including one by a favorite professor of mine, Tom Kaplan-Maxfield (I’m making my way through his most recent novel now…)

SATURDAY

tC fullBuilding Culture and Community Gala
Newton Cultural Alliance
Saturday, April 28 at 7pm
at Gregorian Rug

Newton Cultural Alliance is hosting its first inaugural gala this weekend and will be honoring former Newton mayor Tom Concannon for his commitment to our city and its arts. Hosted by Steve and Barbara Grossman, the evening promises to be full of great food, lovely libations, light-hearted entertainment (in honor of our light-hearted man of the hour), and quality community togetherness. All proceeds from the evening will directly benefit NCA’s economic and community development programs such as the Arts Stroll & Shop and Culture ‘n Cuisine. It’s a a great opportunity to meet and greet the leaders of the Newton’s arts and cultural organizations (and me) while honoring a great friend and neighbor!

For more information, click here or call me at the office at 617.332.4300.

Speaking of Culture ‘n Cuisine… watch for a big announcement next week!

Spring Seasonings
Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce

There are more than 30 local restaurants participating this year! Besides getting to try a ridiculous amount of delicious food you’ll also get a chance to meet the folks who make the restaurants run! Chat up your local business owners, your neighbors, and make some new friends that you can meet at the bar. I’m so excited to see that so many of NCA’s Culture ‘n Cuisine restaurants are participating as well!

Hope to see you there!
