Too often it feels like we’re quick to report when a cherished local business closes in Newton but negligent to report the arrival of new businesses or in this case a significant makeover.
This evening Erik’s Pizza and Wings on Comm. Ave offically reopened as The Mediterranean Grill at 549 Commonwealth Ave. The owners of the new restaurant, Gurken and Rousan Baghdasarian, will specialize in Middle Eastern, Russian and Armenian food. Mayor Setti Warren, Aldermen Ted Hess-Mahan and Ruthanne Fuller and Amanda Stout, Senior Economic Development Planner for the city, were among the crowd at tonight’s opener.
If the opening night spread was any indication, the Mediterranean Grill should be a winner. Every dish was better than the next.
