The Upper Falls Area Council started an email newsletter a few months ago. It gets sent out every week or two depending on what’s happening in the neighborhood. The content is a mix of breezy neighborhood stories (e.g. kids find wallet filled with money in the park) and more official business (Area Council agenda).

This is great. Every village should have one. Jerry is using the most modern of technology to put UF on the map in many new and exciting exciting ways.
Jerry is being modest in his presentation here. He’s the Ben Bradlee of Newton Upper Falls. He was the inspiration for this and is its driving force. It has got a lively mix of community news and fun facts about the Upper Falls (e.g., which Upper Falls street has two different spellings on its street signs?). It, along with the TAB and Patch, are my three main Newton news sources. My favorite moment was when on my way to work, I saw crews fixing a downed wire on Oak Street. By the time I reached work and checked my inbox, Jerry had a new edition that explained what had happened!
“It, along with the TAB and Patch, are my three main Newton news sources.”
In the Nonblog Category, of course . . . 🙂
@Anil. Amen
@Anil – “he’s the Ben Bradlee of Newton Upper Falls”
Damn, all this time I’ve been shooting for the “>Alfred E Neuman of Upper Falls.
Maybe someday (with Jerry’s leadership and nice haircut?) those of us in the ward can type in a web order and not see an “02464 not found” or “Newton” converted to “Newton U.F. “?
Someday we shall rise up and utilize the Waban post office with indifference?
Say Amen, U.F.rs?
I have a dream that one day, the people of Waban, and those of Upper Falls will feast together at the table of brotherhood and join hands to walk through the doors of both the Waban and Upper Falls branch post offices, for all their postal needs – Amen
