Newton Life magazine is the latest glossy magazine about and for Newton. I don’t know if it has actually landed in the street or not. But you can flip through and read the entire debut issue here.
Another new glossy magazine about Newton makes its debut

It has landed! Though its circulation is around 5000 and it is being directly mailed to homes. Its editor has done a lot of outreach to local organizations for its contents. So far, so good it seems!
How are they picking the 5000 homes to mail it to?
I’m not sure. From what I’ve gathered it seems fairly arbitrary. The business that owns the magazine produces community magazines all over the area. If I had to guess I imagine that there’s some sort of magic algorithm.
If I had to guess it’s by demographics. The advertisers who are likely customers for a glossy magazine prefer some zip codes/neighborhoods more than others
Actually, I’m not guessing.
Looks like I’m not in the glossy magazine zone. Maybe we’re in the matte finish zone.
Better than a staple in the corner.
I guess I’m also in the ‘read it on the Internet’ zone. Just as well. I already have enough unread reading material to recycle. I did read the previous glossy magazine though.
I was disturbed with this magazine and the( Upcoming Events) pages. I found it to be quite Biased in its choice of the Word (Holiday). It seems the magazine wants to be more PC that accurate at least based on the Holiday of Christmas – for the word was missing – It is not a scary word and many people in Newton Celebrate it. For Events – it is noted “Hanukkah Concert” and “Menorah Lighting” – these events are in November (should they have been noted as Holiday Concert/Lighting)???? it would seem so for they are Holidays. For December Event – all of a sudden “Holiday” is noted – “Holiday Concert” – on 12/22 – it should have been noted as “Christmas Concert”.- since in the Christmas month. While Editing this magazine – no one found this to be Odd- and why would that be…..
