The deadline to register to vote in Newton’s preliminary election on Sept 17 is this Wednesday Aug. 28 at 8 p.m. Meanwhile, you can practice voting right here on Village 14.

Beginning Tuesday 8/27, you will be able to hear from Tom Sheff and Jackie Geauvreau on Newton Newsmakers.
Segment 1 of the program features SC Vice Chair Matt Hills with an public school progress update. Topics: Where are we on school construction, class size, and does he believe we need additional schools in the city. Matt also talks about why he is enthusiastically supporting Mayor Warren.
Part 2 features is Jackie/Tom. Topics: lack of transparency, the police chief firing, and more. Both candidates believe the current mayor is out of touch and the city needs a change.
It’s safe to say that neither candidate was pulling any punches.

@Charlie. Thanks for publishing the schedule for your program in an easy to follow and reference format. I think the station would help by posting the dates and times of all local interview programs the way you have in a separate section.
I love listening to your show as I do most of the other interview programs on NEW TV, but I have trouble remembering when they will be on and it’s not that easy to follow the station’s schedules. Thanks for all you and the other hosts do.
Charlie Shapiro — Echoing what Mr Burke is saying, if you look at NewTV.org the schedule for your program says “NewTV Original Programing”. It’s really hard to find shows . As a result, I prefer to watch on-line once the show is cataloged and posted.
