Hot weather returns — just as Crystal Lake closes for the season

Weather forecasters say it will be in the upper 80s this week. Yet faced by the annual challenge of finding enough life guards once college students begin leaving for the summer, the city run  beach at Crystal Lake closed for the season yesterday. Gath Pool remains open until Labor Day.
