First let’s establish that this not a complaint. But have you noticed that three new bars are coming to Newton?
There’s Terry O’Reilly Pub, replacing the Sabra in Newton Centre.
There’s Waltham’s John Brewer’s Tavern replacing the former C. Tsar’s restaurant location in Newtonville.
And there’s a Jonathan’s Bar and Grille to open at the site of the former Papa Ginos on Needham Street.
This is so awesome!
THERE CAN BE A DOWNSIDE, IF WE HAVE TOO MANY RESTAURANTS OF SIMILAR ILK.
Especially since Needham St. already has Mick Morgan’s.
I like the sound of a live jazz brunch at Jonathan’s Bar and Grille. More live music around town’s a good thing.
C’mon, they’re not bars. They’re restaurants with bars in them or as part of their milieu. Let’s not bring the Newton Temperance Society down upon us, shall we?
Plus Newtonville really didn’t have something similar. A few restaurants have bars, but none is really a neighborhood pub restaurant. I think it will do well.
This wasn’t the Newton Temperance Society – no one was saying they shouldn’t be there. It was concerns about economic feasibility – different issue.
mgwa- I was attempting humor. Clearly I failed 🙂
Ah – you forgot the smiley before 😉
Hahaha- I didn’t realize smileys were enabled! Awesome- thanks mgwa! 😀
