I lost, but I am not beat.
This was a rewarding election and I thank you all for engaging in a civil discussion of the issues, for keeping an open mind and daring to question what has been long taken for granted and for the many of you who looked to the person and did not judge on party alone.
I especially want to thank those who actively volunteered, participated and engaged in the campaign season … for any candidate … for their efforts, their encouragement and their strength.
Choices and diversity are what bring out voters. What a terrific turnout we had yesterday. May we continue to have competitive and contested races.
Alderman Swiston: Thank you for running and giving the people in that district a choice.
I no longer vote in your district, Greer (redistricting), but I appreciate your running. Having no choice at the polls, even if you strongly favor the incumbent, just doesn’t smell like democracy. A nice, clean campaign is also good to see. Thanks!
