I just stumbled upon a promotional website for the new Atrium Center. Not exactly a neighborhood destination, but it’s interesting to see what’s going to replace the ghost town that the mall had become. What’s new? Windows. And it’s going to be “green”. There’s a LEED checklist. Well, I’m excited about the zipcars, and they claim that the infrastructure improvements are adding a bicycle lane (don’t remember seeing this in the MassWorks plans) yet it’s not clear how you’d get there. Not sure what “tremendous signage opportunities” is all about. Aren’t there zoning restriction on such things? Also, someone should tell them that they’re in Thompsonville…
Goodbye Atrium, hello Atrium Center

Any word yet on whether or not the Cheesecake Factory will still be there?
I think that NED is paying for the bike lane, but it is going to be a city project.
Doesn’t look like the Cheesecake Factory is staying. See these first floor plans. It appears that the only on-site food will be a food-court-style cafeteria.
Signage opportunities refers, almost certainly, to the opportunity to have the company name and logo applied to the front facade.
