I received an invitation yesterday from the Newton Needham Chamber of Commerce worth sharing. They are organizing, I think, the first “Cash Mob” of the year in Newton Highlands.
Some of my favorite items in the Highlands are donut muffins from Bread & Chocolate and Montreal smoked meat from the Walnut Market. Join the Mob and discover some of the unique items offered in the Highlands.
Congressman Joe Kennedy, Mayor Setti Warren and former Boston Bruin Don Marcotte will lead shoppers around Newton Highlands to support local businesses
The Chamber invites you to join a “cash mob” of local shoppers who will descend upon Newton Highlands businesses this Saturday, May 2, 2015.
Beginning at 10:30 a.m., more than 100 participants will join Congressman Joe Kennedy, Newton Mayor Setti Warren and former Boston Bruins forward Don Marcotte to disperse around Newton Highlands to shop. The group will meet outside of Bread & Chocolate at 4 Hartford Street in Newton Highlands.
More information is available on the Chamber site, like what is a Cash Mob?
Thanks for posting Groot. Here’s a video from NewTV shot at our first “Cash Mob” back in 2012.
Marcie & Bea’s is a great place for antiques lovers.
Saturday is also “Taiwan Day” in Newton Highlands … so if you stick around after the Cash Mob, you can enjoy a parade down Lincoln Street and some Chinese Cultural fun and performances at Hyde Park!
