Jean and Lee Kitchen is a new Taiwanese/Chinese restaurant that just opened this past week in Upper Falls. It’s located on Oak St near Chestnut St, just across the railroad tracks (soon to be the Greenway) from The Depot Coffee Shop. Jean and Lee were previously the chefs at Concord’s Asian Gourmet
We went to dinner there tonight and were suitably impressed. When we arrived, by chance, we were seated at the next table from our friends and neighbors – Anna, Sherry, Jacob and Sam. Between our two tables we got to sample a fair selection of dishes and weren’t disappointed by any of then. Of particular note were the “scallion pancakes with beef filling” and the “three cup tofu”.
The restaurant is open 7 days a week and will be serving Taiwanese dim sum on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 AM – 3 PM.
So come on down to Upper Falls and give them a try. We’d love for Jean and Lee to make a go if it. It’s a great addition to the neighborhood.
Thanks Jerry. We will check this out.
Went to Jean and Lee for dinner tonight. This may be the best Chinese in the Boston ‘burbs. Very flavorful (I found the predecessor in this location very bland). Highly recommend the lamb with onion and scallion and the string beans.
(Is it a V14 faux pas to comment on a 2-1/2 week old thread?)
@Bruce – definitely not
I work closeby and grabbed lunch there a couple of weeks ago, VERY GOOD!
I will be back!
The unfortunate thing is that its predecessor was kosher and this one is not…. so, sadly, many of my friends and I cannot enjoy the food at this restaurant. I hope it does well but I now shall trek into Brookline when I want my Chinese food fix!
