There’s a new lunch and shopping destination this summer in West Newton where you can try different restaurants, shop from Newton’s small businesses, listen to music, and keep little ones entertained with a craft activity.
Every Thursday through July 27th, a different Newton restaurant is popping up and serving lunch on the The Allen Center’s gorgeous, tented patio from 11:30-2:30. Even better? A rotating showcase of Newton small businesses is popping up over lunch, too, for a little retail therapy.
This Thursday, June 29th, Newton Centre Italian grocer, Market-Tiamo, will be dishing out charcuterie boards for 2-4, Italiano sandwiches, tiramisu, and that’s just for starters. Order lunch by June 28th, because there will be limited food options available on-site. The group of small businesses changes every week, so there’s always something new to explore! Thanks for posting, Jerry! The Allen Center is truly a special property and under-utilized community resource. In hosting these pop-ups we’re hoping to bring back the spirit of the sorely missed L’Aroma, while giving Newton’s restaurants and small businesses a chance to strut their stuff!
The Allen Center just finished their multiple year rehab of the property just in time for the Covid lock down. It so great to see this beautiful facility starting to come into its own in recent months, with events both inside and outside ( I saw a great concert there last weekend).
I’m looking forward to many years of great music, theater, and other events there in the coming year. In the meantime, I think I know where I’m getting my lunch on Thursday
