The Friends of Hemlock Gorge are hosting their annual spring cleanup of Newton’s spectacular Hemlock Gorge park on Saturday April 29. Meet at Hamilton Place, just over the river in Needham between 9 – 9:30 AM. Gloves, bags and tools will be provided by the DCR.A complementary picnic lunch will be provided at noon courtesy of the Friends of Hemlock Gorge,.
If you’ve never been to Hemlock Gorge it’s well worth a trip, and this will give you an excuse. This relatively compact park features two waterfalls, a dramatic gorge, an island in the river and the entire things is spanned by the spectacular Echo Bridge which you can walk over or scream underneath.
